The Annali, issued since 1970, continue the series of Papers of the Experimental Institute of Silviculture (n°15-18, 1968-69) and formerly of the Royal Station of Silviculture in Firenze (n°1-14, 1932-67). The Annali house original papers produced inside and in cooperation with researchers outside on the main following subjects: forest bio-ecology, silviculture of semi-natural forests and forest plantations, tree farming, forest mensuration and structural dynamics, conservation and valorization of biodiversity and genetic resources, forests and forest ecosystems protection.
The research issues and thematic volumes throughout the 40 years of publication follow and deal with the emerging subject-matters over the same time-period. Special volumes issued since 1993 (XXIV) collect the outcomes of national and European research projects that the Institution joined as coordinator or partner.
Up to 1993, submitted papers underwent a peer-review at care of Riccardo Morandini, director and member of many editorial boards in Italy and abroad. Since the volume XXV-XXVI (1994-95), the referees’ committee was officially declared and issued. It has been renewed per volume according to contents and expertise required by the submitted papers. Professors and researchers of other networks in Italy and foreign countries take part in the referees’ committee. The editorial Staff together with guest editors in case of special issues and to the Director take care of the revision process.
